Dr. Corrin Scavo


	Dr. Scavo completed her undergraduate work at Bradley University in Peoria IL with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in health. She completed her Masters and Doctorate from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology focusing in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Scavo’s experience is eclectic and she has worked in a variety of clinical settings from hospitals, outpatient centers, residential programs, and shelters dealing with a variety of different age groups and psychological disorders. She focuses on individual, family, and group therapy for adults and adolescents. Dr. Scavo works with individuals from a variety of different backgrounds and lifestyles. She believes in self-empowerment, and developing the self so that each individual can create the life that they have always wanted. Dr. Scavo’s style is integrative and eclectic meeting the needs of each client by utilizing the best approach for each individual. Dr. Scavo believes strongly in the development of the therapeutic relationship as the facilitator for change. Through this relationship the individual can explore their issues in a safe environment. Dr. Scavo specializes in addictions, mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, self-harm, and trauma related issues. In addition, Dr. Scavo is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Illinois Psychological Association. She is also adjunct faculty at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She joined the IPD staff in April 2008. Dr. Scavo sees patients in the Joliet and Morris IPD locations.
